Double S Solutions AG is a Swiss survey company located in the heart of Switzerland between Zurich and Basel in Dättwil in the Canton of Aargau. Our areas of expertise include cargo and carrier’s liability surveys as well as third-party and product liability insurance claims.
On the back of more than ten years of experience as a surveyor in Switzerland and Germany, Double S Solution AG’s Managing Director, Sven Steenbock founded the company in 2018. Together with his associate, Daniela Jeannerod, who has been active in the field of cargo underwriting for over ten years, Double S Solutions AG provides full service solutions for insurance companies and clients from various industries, both in Switzerland and abroad. Since our team is not only fluent in German and English but also in French, we are able to provide our services nationwide.
As independent experts, we can provide unbiased, loss-mitigating services in a transparent manner. Furthermore, being an official partner of the Battermann + Tillery Group, we have access to an international network of experts.
Our survey reports all follow the same general structure and are comprehensively evaluated and checked whilst passing through our Quality Assurance procedures before being issued. With our reporting and supplementary services, we aim to provide our principals with a solid foundation for the further handling of claims. Our findings and assessments allow our principals to finalise claims swiftly and properly.
Generally, we start by conducting an on-site inspection at the premises of the insured or the claimant. The findings ascertained in the course of the survey and the results of our further investigations form the basis for the preparation of our reports. Upon request, preliminary information can be provided over the phone directly following survey and a detailed preliminary report will be provided within 48 hours of the survey. If an on-site inspection is not desired, or if it is no longer possible to physically inspect the claimed goods, the possibility remains for the claims handling to be based on the available documents and information.
As part of our streamlined claims management, we provide support to the parties involved. In doing so, we seek to prevent potential disagreement during the final stages of handling by the insurers, even before it arises. However, we will always remain impartial and avoid any prejudicial statements on behalf of our principals.
In addition to our extensive experience, we have entered into a partnership with one of Europe’s leading marine and cargo survey companies, the Battermann + Tillery Group. This gives us access to an extensive network of specialists in various fields of expertise. If a more detailed technical analysis of a case is required, we can call on the highly-specialised know-how of these experts to provide support at any time. It goes without saying that the performing of any laboratory analyses or commissioning of external experts will be done only in consultation and with the full agreement of our principals.
By participating in on-going advanced training courses, we strive to ensure that our expert knowledge is always up to date and develops continuously.
Our lean management procedures enable us to handle claims efficiently and in a timely manner. The savings that are thus made are, on the one hand, passed on to our clients and, on the other, is invested to further our levels of training in order to ensure that our services are of the highest quality.
In addition to providing our reports in German, we are also able to offer them in both English and French.

Through this, you will prevent any possible damage to the goods that could arise from unsuitable packaging, inappropriate cargo-securing or, for instance, corrosion due to condensation. As a consequence, you will avoid straining of your business relationship with your customers which could become damaged over time as a result of transport-related claims. Moreover, with our competent advice and consultation, you can safeguard yourself against any consequential losses which may be claimed by your customers or other third parties.
Do you require an objective assessment of a third-party liability or product liability claim? We are able to offer our extensive expertise in these fields. In close consultation with our principals, we can provide solutions which are viable for all parties involved. While evaluating the cause and the extent of the damage, we will seek to find innovative solutions. Should our own findings and evaluations require supporting and objective analyses, we have connections to an extensive network of domestic and international laboratories.
In addition to the above, we are able to offer our expertise and services for the assessment of claims associated with cases of business interruption.
Should you experience a personnel shortage or require a neutral opinion in insurance-related matters, we are able to provide extensive expertise and full claims services on the basis of the insurance agreement and our own survey report. Naturally, any solution would be tailored to the needs of your company and the claim at hand.

One of our many services connected with handling transport-related claims is protecting the rights of recovery for our principals. We will remind the insured to issue notices of liability to the relevant parties in a timely manner if such action has not yet been taken. Any related correspondence will of course be included in our final report.

Office fees include all auxiliary costs such as telecommunication, printouts, scanning, expenses, office supplies etc.
All rates and prices stated in this document are net prices and subject to the value added tax (VAT) rate valid at the time the invoice was issued.
By appointing us, our principals agree to our Terms of Service. In our invoice, our fees are broken down accordingly and calculated in increments of 0.1 hours, thus enabling our clients to verify all incurred costs and expenses.
If goods are salvaged to minimise the loss, we will charge on a time-and-trouble basis. We will of course disclose all relevant invoices to the sellers and the buyers. If external service providers such as laboratories are contracted, no additional costs will be charged (e.g. for administration).
French is considered an official language, and reports prepared in French will be provided at no extra costs. Translations into English will be provided by an external translation service and charged at cost price.
Since we believe in the high quality of our services and aim to satisfy all our clients, we offer you the possibility to object to our invoice of fees within seven days if you are dissatisfied with our service or the level of our fees. If you have need to do so, please send a short explanation as to why you are dissatisfied including the invoice number to one of our email addresses, or simply give us a call.
